J Coffey Construction secured this single stage Design & Build contract in 2017 to t out the 9th floor of a ‘live’ commercial building to form a Diagnostic & Day Care Centre for Ramsay Health Care.

The existing Cat A office interior was stripped back to the concrete structure, including existing raised floors and the majority of the services installations. The fit out consisted of floor to ceiling partitions, mechanical & electrical services, medical gasses, new raised floors & ceilings, hygienic floor & wall nishes, medical, standard doors & pre-plumbed IPS panels.

New capital plant, consisting of 4 package air handling units and associated ductwork, chiller units, boilers and medical gas manifolds were hoisted onto the roof of the ten storey building. A standby generator and gas store was located at ground level and vital services were installed via ‘live’ service risers without disruption to the existing buildings tenants.

The completed unit includes two Theatres, X-ray, Endoscopy & Ophthalmic facilities. The project was successfully completed in 26 calender weeks.
