Duration: 24 months

This project at Reading station was to create new capacity at the station by alterations to existing platforms, construction of new station entrances, new passenger transfer decks including lifts and new access between platforms. The team delivered the scheme through the Grip Stage 5-8 process through close involvement with the Client, Network Rail (asset owner) and First Great Western (end user).

We supported and delivered a series of successful blockades culminating in a milestone four-day (109-hour) blockade, allowing Network Rail to re-sequence the project and complete one year ahead of schedule. This required extensive collaboration between the various stakeholders and contractors.
