Net Zero Week: Leading the Charge in Glass Recycling

This Net Zero Week, J Coffey is proud to showcase how we’re actively building a more sustainable future, with Saint-Gobain Glass UK and Ireland one pane of glass at a time.

Check out this video of our team in action at the Fresh Wharf project for Mace, where we’ve already recovered an incredible 61 tonnes of glass out of an estimated 154 Tonnes! This is a significant stride towards reducing waste and our environmental impact.

This same innovative process of on-site glass recycling is being implemented across several of our key projects, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to a circular economy. Since January 2025, we have recovered a huge 291.1 tonnes of glass on-site at the following projects:

✅Life Science Building at 17 Columbus Court for Morgan Sindall Group plc
✅Retail&Office Space at Bloomsbury for STRUCTURETONE LIMITED
✅Retail Space at Client Confidential Building on Oxford Street
✅Life Science Building at Judd Street for Third London Wall
✅Grade II Listed Building at 40 Argyll Street for Mace
✅Retail & Office Space at Fresh Wharf for Mace

At J Coffey, reducing our carbon footprint isn’t just a buzzword, it’s embedded in everything we do. From material selection to waste management, we are constantly seeking new and improved ways to operate sustainably. It’s truly great to see our industry as a whole tackling the carbon issue collaboratively, with both us and our clients setting the standard.

Inspiring Future Engineers at St Luke’s Trust “Steps to Success”

We recently attended St. Luke’s “Steps to Success” event, where our team from J Coffey engaged with some incredibly bright young minds!

The kids got involved in a hands-on challenge, learning how to engineer a building using just spaghetti and marshmallows. It was great to see their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork in action as they designed and built their structures. We are pretty certain a few of the teams carried out “structural integrity tests”, or in the kids terms, eating the marshmallows to make sure they were up to the job!

A big thank you to St. Luke’s for organising such a brilliant initiative!

Life Science Building in Canary Wharf

Exciting progress on site at 17 Columbus Court where the existing building is being repurposed into cutting-edge labs and offices for the life sciences and technology sector!

Working in collaboration for Morgan Sindall Group plc, we’re making great strides:

✅Facade Removal: Nearing completion at 95%!
✅Slab Creation: Demolition is well underway to create the structural support for the new facade elements.

We’re also proud of our commitment to sustainability! By partnering with Saint-Gobain to recycle the removed glass, we’ve achieved substantial carbon savings in the process. Full Report to follow. 🌱

Celebrating Biodiversity Week, the J Coffey team at our Pure Dublin data centre site took action for local ecosystems.

We procured custom native wildflower seed packets, featuring the J Coffey logo, for distribution on site – fostering biodiversity even in urban construction.
